The early years in a child’s life are very important and all the associated opportunities for growth, development, and exploration should be provided to a child in a safe and loving environment. We focus on the five development areas of children. Highlights of our infant/toddler Montessori classroom are:
“Careful studies have concluded that the first two years are the most important in the whole span of human life.” (The Absorbent Mind)

Cognitive Development
Cognitive development is the problem-solving ability in a child. Our Infant Montessori Daycare in Ashburn VA is specifically designed to stimulate infants cognitively. Both the layout of the classroom and the structure of the curriculum are designed to promote sensorial learning, as children develop cognitively best through seeing, touching, feeling, and hearing. The big windows in the classroom give a child the opportunity to visualize the outdoors and connect with nature.
Social and Emotional Development
Social and emotional development is a child’s ability to interact with others. This also includes helping themselves and learning self-control.
Our day to day activities in our Infant Program in Ashburn VA focus on creating an environment that empowers the brain of the infant/toddler to institute imperative relations and also build strong social/emotional skills. In Montessori school independence is promoted. Teachers are mere guides to channel the natural curiosity of the children in the right direction so as to maximize development.
Speech and Language Development
Speech and language development is a child’s ability to understand and use language to communicate. All activities in our Infant/toddler classroom teach language and help children acquire vocabulary. Interacting with the teachers who talk slowly and clearly for the child to absorb the language, reading and music all promote language skill development.
Love of Reading:
Teachers read to the children, both individually and in group settings every day. This exposes the child to meaningful sounds and words that will smooth their transition towards reading comprehension in their later years and develop a love for reading.Weekly Music Classes:
We have weekly music classes for our infants/toddlers to stimulate their auditory senses, the instructors play music and everyone sings along.Fine Motor Skill Development
Fine motor skills is a child’s ability to use small muscles. Prime examples of these are holding a spoon, transferring objects with the help of a ladle, and using a crayon to draw.
In our infant/toddler classroom, we’ve designed an amazing environment to foster the development of the minds and bodies. Children work on developing fine motor skills through various activities that give ample opportunities to develop this skill.
Gross Motor Skill Development
Gross motor skills development is the child’s ability to use large muscles. Walking and jumping are excellent examples of gross motor. The layout of the classroom allows for mobility to support the infants/toddlers’ transition to first pulling themselves to stand by the mirror on the wall with the help of a bar and then transition to walking in an environment specially designed for this with their safety in mind. The Infant Montessori Certified Teacher with the help of experienced assistants not only provides care but encourages skill-building by administering activities that support developmental milestones.
